ACM PerCom 2022 Panel Moderator

I was the panel moderator at PerFail 2022 discussing lessons from failures in research

The panel was hosted as part of the PerFail 2022 which aimed to discuss and normalize negative results in computer science research.

The panelists included experienced computer science academic and industry researchers such as Jon Crowcroft, Keith Winstein, etc.

I believe that research community will benefit significantly if negative research results were appropriately distilled and highlighted so others can learn from the mistakes. The panel discussed how should researchers at different stages deal with negative results and failures (both in research and career). We also compiled and published a paper in IEEE Pervasive (Peltonen et al., 2023) which summarizes key findings from the workshop (especially the panel).

Following this, I also joined the PerFail organizing team which continues to grow strong.
